Hi, I’m Stephanie!
While I’ve traveled to 25 countries around the world, France will always be my true love. As of early 2024, I’ve visited France 10 times, and visited Paris 7 times!
I love the beautiful buildings, architecture, fascinating history, charming villages, lovely gardens, delicious food, and gorgeous coastline. France is seriously my happy place, and my goal for this website is to help it be your happy place too!
Whether you’re planning a trip to Paris, visiting off-the-beaten-path spots, exploring the French Riviera, or discovering the wine country region around Bordeaux, I’m here for you!
All my guides are designed to be very detailed and focused on practical, helpful tips, to help you prepare for your vacation to France.
And while I don’t live in France (though that option is always at the back of my mind), I think that the fact that I travel there instead of living there is a big plus – you’re getting travel tips and guides from someone who has spent extensive time in the different cities and regions all around France, but still has experienced them as a traveler, just like you.
Where this all began
Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve been totally enamored with all things France, and I’ve spent a large part of my adult life chasing that interest!
My maiden name, Thibaudeau, was always a really fun part of my identity and I loved how unique it is in the USA, where I live. What’s more, my family can trace our ancestry back to France via Canada and I loved learning those stories and details.
I took French in high school, and then went on a trip to Paris and La Rochelle (where my ancestors are from) with my dad and brother when I was 17. When I tell you it was love at first sight, I’m not lying. I fell so in love with all things France during that trip.
During university, I took quite a few French language, history, and culture classes. I spent one semester living in Paris and traveling around different areas of France. That experience continues to be one of the highlights of my life!
I also lived in the “French House” in the Foreign Language Housing for a year of college, where groups of students who were learning French, plus one native speaker, lived together and spoke only French in the apartment.
After college, I continued to love, learn about, and travel to France. And I love sharing that passion with others!
I brought my sweetheart to Paris and southern France for our honeymoon, 5 year, and 10 year anniversary. I’ve traveled with my mom a couple of times in France as well, plus a few other trips in there to visit Christmas markets and other locations. And now I want to help you discover France and hopefully develop your own appreciation for it.
